A question people ask
What if everything depends on the founder?
Then the company can only grow as far as one person can reach. The market knowledge in their head is the asset to write down.
Founder-led companies often sell well, because the founder knows the customers deeply. The problem is that the knowledge lives in one head and leaves the room when they do.
Writing it down is not bureaucracy. Who are our best customers, why do they buy, what do we say to them: once that exists on paper, others can sell, market and decide without asking.
That is how a company becomes bigger than its founder, and worth more to everyone, the founder included.
